← Author ResourcesRecording a grandparent
The hardest thing about recording a grandparent is not the microphone. It's the silence between questions.
Give the storyteller time. A pause that feels awkward to you is often the moment a memory finally arrives. Some of the most tender passages in our Heritage books came out of a ten-second silence.
Bring photographs. Bring the smell of a particular meal if you can. Memory is embodied, and the best interviews we record are the ones where the room itself feels like a prompt.
At Publify Publishing, we believe authors should understand their choices before making important decisions about their books. We work with authors through the publishing process while allowing them to maintain ownership and control of their work.
Whether you're preparing to publish your first book, working on your next one, or simply trying to understand your options, education should come before the sales pitch.
Because publishing a book isn't just about getting it onto Amazon. It's about giving your book the best possible beginning.
